Description
A elegant Parisian woman in a fashionable rose-toned coat and feathered hat is depicted in profile, her confident silhouette set against a warm beige ground with decorative lettering announcing Henri Boutet's exhibition of pastels, drawings, and engravings. The work is a promotional poster for the Salon des Cent, a celebrated series of exhibitions held at the offices of the La Plume journal in Paris beginning in 1894, which championed Art Nouveau printmakers and illustrators. Boutet, known for his refined depictions of Parisian women, contributed this lithographic poster for the show running 18 May to 15 June 1895.
