Description
A bold Art Nouveau poster features a crowing rooster rendered in dramatic black, red, and gold tones, its beak open wide and comb blazing with color. The bird anchors the masthead of 'Cocorico,' a French illustrated satirical and literary journal published in Paris at 9 Rue Say, whose contributors included luminaries such as Alphonse Mucha, Théophile Steinlen, and Adolphe Willette, under director Paul Boutigny. The composition exemplifies the vibrant poster art movement of late 19th-century Paris, combining expressive illustration with strong typographic layout.
