Description

A bold, crowing black rooster dominates this striking Art Nouveau poster, its vivid red comb and wattles contrasting dramatically against a warm, aged-cream background. The image served as the cover advertisement for Cocorico, a French illustrated art journal published in Paris at 9 Rue Say, directed by Paul Boutigny and featuring contributions from celebrated artists including Mucha, Willette, Steinlen himself, and others.
