Description

A richly detailed botanical illustration by Pierre-Joseph Redouté depicting Rosa Inermis — the thornless turban rose — rendered with his hallmark stipple-engraving technique that captures the delicate layering of soft pink petals, furled buds, and serrated green leaves against a warm ivory ground. Redouté, often called 'the Raphael of flowers,' produced this plate as part of his celebrated series 'Les Roses' (1817–1824), widely regarded as the finest floral botanical publication ever made.
