Graceful white blooms with soft golden stamens arch across thorned stems alongside rich green leaves, pink buds, and a solitary red rosehip, capturing the plant in full botanical detail. Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759–1840), known as the 'Raphael of flowers' and official court botanist to Empress Joséphine of France, published this plate in his celebrated series 'Les Roses' (1817–1824), widely regarded as the finest floral atlas ever produced.
