Description

This iconic Art Nouveau lithograph by Alphonse Mucha depicts a golden-haired woman in profile, her elaborate jeweled headdress surrounded by a circular halo bearing the twelve signs of the zodiac. Rich earthy tones of amber, sage green, and burgundy fill the ornate decorative border of intertwined botanical motifs, typifying Mucha's signature style. 'Zodiac' (1896) was originally created as a decorative calendar panel for the publishing house La Plume in Paris, France, and became one of the most celebrated works of the Belle Époque period.
