Description

This woodblock print depicts groups of pilgrims and climbers ascending the steep, rust-red volcanic slopes of Mount Fuji, Japan's iconic 3,776-meter stratovolcano and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Figures in traditional dress and wide-brimmed hats wind their way up narrow paths through swirling clouds, conveying both the spiritual significance and physical challenge of the Fuji pilgrimage tradition.
