Description
A sweeping arched wooden bridge dominates the composition, crowded with travelers and supported by tall timber pilings above a winding river, all rendered in a striking crimson and gold palette. This is the Yahagi Bridge at Okazaki, located in Aichi Prefecture, Japan — historically one of the longest wooden bridges of the Edo period, spanning the Yahagi River along the Tōkaidō highway. Mount Fuji is faintly visible in the background, and cherry blossoms add seasonal beauty to the festive scene, typical of Hokusai's celebrated landscape series.
