Description

A dramatic Japanese woodblock composition features a large, gnarled pine tree dominating the foreground, its sweeping branches silhouetted against a glowing sunset sky of orange and pale green. Below, a broad bay dotted with sailing vessels stretches to a distant shoreline, while figures and a horse animate the lower left.
