Description
This vibrant Japanese woodblock print depicts Kiyomizu Kannon-dō temple and Shinobazu Pond in Ueno, Tokyo, awash in brilliant pink cherry blossoms and magenta architectural details. Elegant figures in traditional dress stroll along the temple's elevated veranda, framed by gnarled pines and a sweeping panorama of the pond below. Ueno Park, located in Tokyo's Taito ward, has been one of Japan's most celebrated cherry blossom viewing sites since the Edo period, and Hiroshige's composition captures that timeless seasonal splendor.
