Description

A black-and-white warbler — historically called the Black and White Creeper — clings to a sweeping branch of a pine tree laden with fresh green cones, rendered with Audubon's signature botanical precision and lifelike naturalism. This plate (No. 90) was originally published in Audubon's monumental 'The Birds of America' (1827–1838), a landmark work in ornithological illustration engraved in aquatint by Robert Havell Jr. in London.
