Description
Two Nashville Warblers — small songbirds with olive-green backs and yellow underparts — perch delicately among leafy branches adorned with clusters of red berries, rendered with meticulous botanical and ornithological detail. This plate originates from John James Audubon's landmark work 'The Birds of America' (1827–1838), one of the most celebrated natural history publications ever produced. The Nashville Warbler (Leiothlypis ruficapilla) takes its name from Nashville, Tennessee, where ornithologist Alexander Wilson first described the species in 1811, and Audubon's life-size depiction captures the bird's characteristic charm against a warm parchment ground.
