Description

Two vivid Florida Jays — now known as Florida Scrub-Jays — are depicted perched among leafy branches laden with golden berries, their brilliant cobalt-blue plumage contrasting beautifully against the soft cream background. This plate is from John James Audubon's monumental work 'The Birds of America' (1827–1838), one of the most celebrated ornithological publications in history. The Florida Scrub-Jay is native to Florida's scrub habitat and is the only bird species endemic solely to the state of Florida, making this print both scientifically and historically significant.
