Description

This plate depicts two Roseate Terns in graceful mid-flight, rendered with Audubon's characteristic scientific precision and naturalistic elegance — their white plumage, black caps with vivid red eye accents, and forked tails beautifully set against a soft blue-gray sky. The composition appears as Plate 240 from Audubon's monumental 'The Birds of America,' one of the most celebrated ornithological works ever produced, originally published between 1827 and 1838.
