Description
Two Canadian Titmice — now commonly known as Black-capped Chickadees — are depicted perched on a berry-laden branch with delicate naturalistic precision, rendered in Audubon's signature lifelike style. This plate (No. 194) originates from Audubon's monumental work 'The Birds of America' (1827–1838), one of the most celebrated ornithological publications in history, originally produced as hand-colored aquatint engravings of life-sized birds. The soft cream background and muted olive, brown, and red tones of the foliage and berries give the piece a refined, botanical-illustration quality that suits a wide range of interior styles.
