Description

Two warm-russet Key West Doves face each other on a mossy log, surrounded by lush foliage and delicate pink-purple morning glory blossoms in a naturalistic, intimate composition. This plate (No. 167) is from John James Audubon's landmark ornithological work 'The Birds of America' (1827–1838), one of the most celebrated natural history publications ever produced, which documented bird species across the continent in dramatic, life-sized illustrations.
