Description
This delicate ornithological plate depicts two Blue Yellow-backed Warblers — now known as the Parula Warbler — perched on a slender stem of copper iris in full bloom, rendered with Audubon's characteristic naturalistic precision and elegance. The birds display their distinctive blue, yellow, and white plumage against warm coral-red blossoms, creating a refined botanical-wildlife composition. Originally published in Audubon's landmark work 'The Birds of America' (1827–1838), the plates were celebrated for their life-size, lifelike portrayals of North American birds and remain among the most prized natural history illustrations ever produced.
