Description
Three red-winged blackbirds—two adult males and one juvenile—perch and flutter among slender branches adorned with delicate pink blossoms, rendered with Audubon's characteristic naturalistic precision against a soft lavender background. The adult males display their distinctive scarlet-and-yellow epaulet patches, a hallmark of the species Agelaius phoeniceus. This composition draws from John James Audubon's landmark publication 'The Birds of America' (1827–1838), celebrated as one of the finest ornithological works ever produced, in which Audubon documented North American bird species with lifelike accuracy and artistry.
