Description
This Art Nouveau advertising poster features an elegantly stylized woman in profile, adorned with golden jewelry and a decorative headdress, savoring a steaming cup of coffee or tea against a deep burgundy-red background. The bold lettering 'RAJAH' anchors the lower portion of the composition, referencing the Rajah brand of coffee and chicory — a Belgian colonial-era product widely sold in the late 19th century. Designed by Belgian poster artist Henri Meunier, this lithograph was published as plate 156 in the celebrated 'Les Maîtres de l'Affiche' series, a prestigious collection of reduced-format reproductions of the finest contemporary posters issued in Paris between 1895 and 1900.
