Description
A sinuous Art Nouveau figure of a woman draped in translucent yellow-green fabric raises a glowing glass of absinthe aloft, her auburn hair adorned with a decorative comb, set against a lush green background swirling with ethereal vapors. The text 'Absinthe Robette' arches at the top in ornate lettering, advertising the Belgian absinthe brand Robette, which was distilled in Brussels in the late 19th century. The composition exemplifies the Belgian Art Nouveau poster tradition championed by Privat-Livemont, whose studio was based in Schaerbeek, Brussels.
