Description

This iconic Belle Époque lithograph advertisement depicts a woman in red and a young girl sharing cups of chocolate and tea at a table, accompanied by a black-and-white cat eagerly looking on. The composition radiates warmth and domesticity in Steinlen's characteristically bold, flat-color poster style with fluid Art Nouveau line work. Created for the Compagnie Française des Chocolats et des Thés — a prestigious French confectionery and tea company based in Paris — the poster was printed by Affiches Artistiques and became one of the most celebrated commercial lithographs of the 1890s.
